Most of the abstract problems, today described within architectural domains, are very paralell to another field defined by M. Searching for a meaning to today's popular design methods and concepts we are all going after. Geometry is a subject that has captured the imagination of Man for at least 2500 years. Furthermore, reliable implementations of these methods have been made possible through the introduction of new paradigms for reliable geometric computing. This workshop will focus Paul Beame: Communication Complexity and Applications: An introduction and survey [slides]. Here is the introduction paragraph of his phD thesis;. The History of Mathematics: An Introduction, 7th Edition, McGraw Hill 2010. This neatly expands on the classical linear algebra viewpoint – where we study systems of linear equations as intersections of planes. Jayram: Information Complexity and the Geometry of Communication [slides]. Continuing the program that started with the first Barriers in Computational Complexity workshop in 2009, this workshop will focus on identifying and circumventing barriers that are preventing progress in several sub-fields of Computational Complexity. This is my first attempt, the idea is to get an geometric understanding of the mutual information and to introduce a few select concepts from information geometry.
